What happens if you do not check in
Nothing sudden. The order matters, and it is built so that a forgotten tap never turns into a frightened phone call to your daughter.
1. You choose a time, and we remind you before it
One time a day, picked by you. A reminder comes before it is due, and another if the hour passes without a tap.
2. If you miss it, we wait
An hour by default, and you can make it shorter or longer. Most missed check-ins are a phone left in another room, not an emergency, and this is the step that stops the whole thing crying wolf.
3. Then your own phone rings
Before anybody else is troubled. With a subscription you get a text first and then a call; on the free plan the sequence goes straight on to your contact.
4. Then the person you chose is told
They get an email and a text message — both free — and, with a subscription, a phone call as well. The message names your animals and carries a link.
5. They open the link and read what your animals need
No app to install, no password, nothing to work out. One plain page: who your animals are, what they eat, which medicine and when, and the vet who knows them.
That page is the whole product. Everything above it is preparation for it loading on somebody else's phone.
Only that one person is told
Nobody else, ever. Not a call centre, not the police, not a list of relatives. One person, the one you named.
The help button
There is also a button for right now, without waiting for a missed check-in. It opens 911 on your phone — you press call yourself, because no app should be able to dial an emergency line from a pocket — and with a subscription it alerts your contact at the same time.
